Novāscend Founder

Novāscend was born from a fundamental belief that accountability, when properly understood and applied, can be one of the most powerful drivers of human potential and organizational excellence. The inspiration came from observing a persistent gap in the business world: organizations were investing heavily in talent development, yet many employees remained disengaged, and performance improvements were often short-lived.

I realized that traditional accountability models were actually part of the problem – they were creating compliance rather than commitment, fear rather than empowerment. With over 20 years of experience in leadership development across healthcare, education, and nonprofit sectors, I created the Transformational Accountability framework to bridge this gap.

Tom James, DC, FIAMA

Facilitator | Partner

Tom James, DC, FIAMA, is a retired Chiropractor, Fellow of theĀ  International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, adventurer, and passionate educator, based in Broomfield, Colorado. As a partner and facilitator with Novascend, Dr. James brings a rich and diverse background to The Happiness Blueprint course, where he helps individuals create lasting fulfillment through the principles of Transformational Accountability—Clarity, Commitment, Courage, and Calibration.

Tom’s passion for human potential has also led to certifications Positive Psychology and Neuro Linguistic Programming. He has facilitated Happiness Habits courses that empower participants to live with greater intention, presence, and joy. His teaching reflects a deeply held belief in personal accountability as the foundation for transformation.

Beyond the clinic and classroom, Tom brings a spirit of adventure and grounded perspective drawn from past experience in the hospitality industry, and years of whitewater kayaking (including private expeditions through the Grand Canyon, and Idaho’s River of No Return). He is also a certified SCUBA Divemaster, having traveled across the Caribbean and GalĆ”pagos Islands, and has visited 26 countries, enriching his global view of happiness and human connection.

In every facet of his work with Novascend, Tom weaves together wisdom from clinical science, mindfulness, and a life fully lived—inviting others to step boldly into the life they truly desire.
